  1. Amazing blog! Do you have any hints for aspiring writers? I\\\\\\\’m hoping to start my own site soon but Im a little lost on everything. Would you recommend starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that Im completely overwhelmed .. Any ideas KW? Bless you!

You are too kind. The consensus seems to be if you’re serious about blogging you should use WordPress.org (i.e. pay for it) rather than WordPress.com and you should pay for a real domain name. On this blog I do neither, using WordPress.com and a crummy assigned domain, because I’m cheap and one of the themes of my blog is how to do things for free. Note about WordPress.com – you aren’t allowed to advertise on it. I’m not sure about .org. Blogger is more flexible on the advertising issue, also free, but not quite as robust. If you want something super easy to use – check out Tumblr. That seems to be the trendy blog hosting site right now, also free, and as I said, it’s very easy. It lends itself particularly well to photo blogs but that doesn’t preclude a more verbal type blog. I hope I haven’t made the decision for you more confusing!

Let me know what you decide and your web address!
