Social Media and the Golden Fleece

Medea, by Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys, 1868

Yes, today is Social Media Day.  I almost accidentally typed “Social Medea” Day — a Freudian slip, no doubt.  Some days I do think of social media as a heartless bitch who murders her children, and all for the approval of someone she doesn’t know very well.

That said, after spending nearly four years in Medea’s homeland, Georgia (the country, not the state), I have come around to the Georgian way of thinking — Medea was a wise queen, who was grossly slandered by the ancient Greeks.  Take that, Jason and your stupid Argonauts!

Anyway, it’s Social Media Day.  This means we get to take the day off from social media, right?
